Suit Separates - Brown Suit Jacket

4:50 AM

I talk a lot about the importance of considering the versatility of a suit as well as being creative when it comes to breaking it into suit separates. If you’re going to invest in something, you should get more than your money’s worth. However, there are times when no matter how creative you are, a suit jacket as a part of suit separates just doesn’t quite hit the mark. It could be that the fabric won’t blend with more casual fabrics like cotton or denim, or that it’s simply too formal looking to be dressed down. Here’s a smart look  that uses my brown suit jacket as a way how to wear suit separates.

As I mentioned in my post '' Sunday troll '', though I wouldn’t consider a dark brown suit a menswear essential, it is definitely a great next step once you have got your classic suit colors covered. A brown suit, whether worn together or broken up into suit separates, can really expand your style possibilities.

A blazer goes a long way when you’re talking about dressing up chinos pants. Another key component is footwear. A great dress boot can absolutely transform a look with chinos pants and is a gilet and is perfect for a night on the town or any time you want to kick it up a notch. The Dalton wingtip dress boot from Allen Edmonds is my absolute favorite.
